MOGA Geocoins

E-mail Print PDF

In keeping with this year's space theme, the  MOGA 2010 event coin is thicker than most, maintaining the exact dimensions as the Monolith from the Space Odyssey movies -- 1 x 4 x 9. The coin has a pathtag sherpa, and will come with a pathtag that resembles the Moon. However, you can swap your own pathtag. The coin has a black, high-gloss nickel finish. The samples are awesome! Order a few extra because they will trade well. Two versions of this coin will be sold, featuring Mark Twain in either a red or a yellow spacesuit. (There will also be a version just for MOGA staffers.) The MOGA 2010 event coin is available for sale when you register for the event.

In addition to the unique event coin, competitors will have a chance to win a custom-made gold, silver, or bronze MOGA 2010 trackable award geocoin. This is a special coin just for competitors who place first (gold), second (silver), or third (bronze). (There will also be a special version minted for MOGA staffers.) The award coins will have a shiny metal finish, and feature the MOGA 2010 space-theme logo on the front, and the tracking number along with the words "WINNER" and "MOGA 2010 COMPETITION" on the back.  They will be presented attached to a green MOGA 2010 lanyard.

Award coins will be presented to the winners in each age group for both the individual and team competitions. And guess what? As of the end of February, we have no one signed up for the women's individual competition in the "Under 30" or "50 and Over" age divisions. Ladies, I can see the wheels turning in your heads now -- this means you can sign up for the individual competition and automatically receive an award coin if no more than 3 women compete in your age division! Hmmm, something to think about anyway.

Mark Twain Lake Trail Maps

Introducing Mark Twain Lake's New Trail Maps

To fulfill increased customer requests for trail facilities at Mark Twain Lake, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers entered into partnerships with local Equine Clubs to develop multi-use trails. These trails are available for non-motorized use by all visitors. Mutual concerns for safety and trail maintenance will help sustain good will and cooperation among all trail users. Title 36, Chapter 327 Rules and Regulations governs use of all trails located on public lands. Click on Photos for downloadable PDF's.

For further information, please contact the Corps of Engineers Mark Twain Lake Project Office by calling 573-735-4097 or stopping by 20642 Highway J, Monroe City, Missouri

Kids' Caches

E-mail Print PDF

Hey MOGA Maniacs!

MOGA isn’t just for all you grown-up (and not so grown-up) kiddos. It is also for the wee Laddies and Lassies that will tag along with mom and dad. This year, we will expand the kids' caches to 10, and include the space theme! We will have the solar system set up and will use some clever means of learning about the planets while solving some fun cache locations.

The kids' caches will be available on Saturday (4/10/2010) at 1:00 pm. We will meet at MOGA Central and go from there. Each child participating will be rewarded with some special swag. They will collect cards in each cache and turn them in for a chance to win a big prize. We encourage you to bring the kids along to MOGA! They will not be bored on Saturday.

MOGA Kids' Cache

Children must have a responsible adult with them as we go through the course. They will need help at a couple of the stages.

Come see us at 1:00 pm on MOGA Saturday!
